Default Anyone know about VW's??

Or know any forums that i can use, my missus has a problem with her 1996 Polo 1.4, every so often, it takes ages to start, it turns over then loses power and cuts out. Ive got no idea where to start lookin, apart from fuses etc, and their all ok.

Help, sometimes shes stuck in car for 10 mins trying, then it just starts and is fine!!

Is it worse when the cars cold? If it is it "Sounds" like the temp sender. Quite common on that shape Polo. Easy to change too.

Oh bugger just remembered they suffer from the ignition switch failing. (Its been a while since I did these cars)

They do suffer from the leads breaking down, but thats pretty obvious as you get a misfire. Cant hurt to check the rotor and cap though. Also check the brake servo pipe see if its broken.
