Default My 1st Cossie!!! What do ya think???

Iv always wanted a Saph Cossie ever since iv heard of the Cosworth name.

FINALLY, i have one.

This is my first Cossie.

I like it the way it is, a few things to sort out but in general its a good car.

But i want peoples opinions on the wheels!

Do Gold wheels really go on an Imperial Saph???

The first thing i had planned was to change the wheels to the RS 7 Spokes (Diamond Cut). But that money has to be spent else where and these buggers are growing on me more and more by the day.

Hope you like, let me know what you seriously think.

It does kinda look like it's copying that blue shell/gold wheel Impreza thang. But it's up to you. Funnily enough though I could see those rims looking good on my Flint Grey sapphire so let me know if you are changing them as I might be interested in buying them. Was gonna buy a normal set of Oz Turismos, got offered some but the price wasn't right for the little tread on the tyres. So gold ones instead why not eh? Let me know as I'm sick to death of my standard lattice rims.

Gravedigger, You da man!!! Thats EXACTLY what i was thinking but didnt wana say it until some 1 else did.

Where i originally come from its more or less Impreza Capital of the world. You see 1 every 10seconds. Most of my mates back there have 1 now and iv been told by many to buy 1. But im not a big fan of Impreza's and i especially dont like having something which every 1 else has anyway.

So i decided to go for this Saph. The ggod thing is the colour is different, the bad thing is the gold wheels make it look like a friggin Impreza, which i dont like. Its fair to say that the wheels suit the colour, but if it didnt look like i was copying an Impreza then i would have left them on.

But like i said im looking for a set of RS 7 Spokes to go so these will most likely be coming off anyway.

Thanks for your comments anyways gents, much appreciated!

Aerial isnt an issue with me, i dont mind that there. Though the jacking point covers are pissing me off aswell, are they a Ford part on their own or do they only come with the skirts?

Any part numbers and prices would be good.

As for jacking point covers, I'm sure you can get them easy from someone on the boards here, plenty of Saffs getting broken these days.

The wheels are 7.5"x17".

Currently they are shod with 235/35/17 tyres but to be honest these are like elastic bands.

Yes mate, its Imperial Blue.

I think the wheels suit it aswell but they give it the styling of an Impreza which i dont like.

Ok, iv been thinking of the wheels, and though i love the RS 7 Spokes i want to know what other otpions there are.

Im after something thats either chrome or diamond cut after considering what rabmc has said.

Can any 1 offer any options along with pics and prices would be nice?

Cheers

Cheers mucker..... ...... there sure is a bit of a variety there aint there. Pity about the lack of chrome stuff on Saphs but yeah that does give a good picture.

Personally i think after the RS 7 Spokes the Khan RSR 5 spokes look the best on these cars. But with the imperial colour i'd like something with a little more shine to it, especially with the way the weather has been this week.

Right, i did say i wanted something with a little bit of chrome on it but nothing thats over the top. So.... given the colour of the car i have choice of either the RS 7 Spoke or this little number below.

I like this 1 as it has a chrome lip as opposed to the whole thing being chromed out. However i dont like the fact that the spokes dont come out to the edge, which will mean it'l prolly look like a 15" or 16" wheel.

Opinions please!

Wheels are a matter of choice, i'm not a lover of gold wheels either, on any car, i didnt like them on the renault clio williams when it came out, and i dont particularly like them on scoobies either. RS 7 Spokes certainly look good on safs but are pretty common nowadays. I ran with a set for a couple of years, before they got really popular

[img][/img]

But fancying a change this year i changed to 18 inch 5 spokes ,
[img][/img]

Your car is a lovely colour and will suit most wheels, multi spokes look ace on safs but if your planning to upgrade the brakes at any time then get a set with fewer spokes as they will show off the AP/ Brembo or Willwood Big disc conversions far better than say Super T's or similair will, also , i would steer clear of chrome wheels, they are a bitch to keep clean and only look really at home on big american pimp wagons

Plater - Your car looks the absolute nads with them 18's on mate, its like i said earlier in this thread, other than the RS 7 Spokes the khans suit the Saph really well. Yours is another example of just how fine they really look.

Will consider them if they come at the right price!

Hay whats wrong with Americans and their big Chrome rims????

Nahh, you are right. some cars dont look right with chrome. But just a lip of chrome might not hurt. just depends on how the car has been setup. Depends on ones taste also.
I am half and half for the gold rims. they look alright and then they dont. Its your car, build it to how you want it.
Then again once in awhile I will also ask for opinions much the same.

I run the Borbet Mondeo rims, they make me happy enough right now. Just wish I would of got ahold of the wider ones. Ohh well. still keeping an eye out for my dream rims though (extremely picky).

The colour of the car looks mint, but i also think the gold wheels have gotta go, imo dark wheels are the way forward.

Lisa 23 - I do really like the Rondells in question and i wouldnt mind a set but to be honest with you...... at THAT sort of price, you've REALLy got to love 'em!!!

Im after something with a flat face as i think that will suit the car the most, so maybe Khans it is.

Rs Rosco - Cheers for the compliment mate, and cheers for the suggestion aswell. I think black wheels MIGHT just suit it but to be honest with you im not a big fan of black wheels, they have a certain "cheap" look about them.

Dont worry peeps...... the wheels have gone. Just a case of deciding on getting some new 1's that look right. Went to see a set of Khan RSR's the other day (6 spoke), but the damn thing sprung an oil leak on the way there. So didnt even make it there.

Any 1 got a part number of the jacking point covers as the parts dept. of my local Ford dealer might aswell be automated by the sort of help you get there.
