just rebuilding my cvh engine and want to no how to run it in and the best way to do it

 

low boost, either running in oil/cheap oil, no thrashing!!!,

i ran mine in at 10 psi, on running in oil for a 1000 miles

with oil changes at 300,600 then mobil 1 oil at 1000, then most important a setup!been ok up to now

 

dont you think the oil changes were a bit too soon ?

im planning on leaving mine in until i have done the full 1k

 

think it depends on the individual really. i was told to change my oil at 500m and again at 1k.

 

I would tip the first oil out after 20km. Then use some reasonable quality mineral for 1000km. After that fill with good synthetic and gradually start using the car normally. In the first 1000 I'd try to drive between 2,500 and 4,500rpm only.

Obviously a new filter at every change too.

 

is all done then tappet?

 

tomora you no the first engine i killed still had the head of it sitting around with 2 bent valvs well was going to bin it but thought i might as well strip it down and guess what i found a kent cam did not even no it was there so the new lump got that in too

 

whats that in now then the cab?

i changed my oil at 300 and 600 just incase, and also my oil pump leaked so i didnt have much choice!, didnt want to much metal particles running through a bottom end id just spent 1300 quid on!

 

well mine at moment has had 3 oil changes 2 filters an ive only done 30 miles had loads bloody problems its going in garage next week as ive had enough now just want it all done going to run in for 500 miles on running in oil with no boost then slowly turn it up after changing oil&filter till i done 1000 miles then i think i better get it set up

 

i remember in the winter when i said 'should be on the road in the summer then how long alan takes'
