MK3 ESCORT CABRIOLET TURBO CONVERSION.
Im currently in the process of putting a series 2 engine and loom into my c reg cabriolet. the engines all in, wiring has been put in but weve now got problems.
we have splined new series 2 loom into original mk 3 loom, now ive had someone look at it he has said a lot of time and work has to go into it to get the thing running. looks like wires from original loom have been cut when they should'nt have thus causing us problems. the engine will turn over but with no spark and you have to turn it on the starter motor, it wont turn on the key/ignition.
now when we started the project I was told that if you wanted to put a complete series 2 loom in (from doors forward) that you would have to change the dash for a mk 4, ive just been told overwise by someone else. does anyone know whats true, cos im getting fed up and need the car on the road.
failing that does anyone know anyone in the kent area who has done this conversion who might lend some advice or are there any competent garages who have done this.
Cheers.
