Default Do i upgrade

Speaking to Steve@Scc on saturday afternoon regarding the esc cos, and was talking about upgrading to 803's, Ahmed map, 3 bar etc when he says leave it as is............

I'm still undecided about taking the plunge & sending her off to Grove, i'd really like the performance increase as i'm a tiny bit bored already! But then comes all the usual paranoia from cossie ownership.........Reliability!

I don't want to spend out on all this only for the engine to go bang in a few months.

Whats your views on doing this....

Am i better all round spending the money elsewhere on the car?

Cheers

Jason

I'd do it mate, if you've got all the right bit's Ahmed only plays it safe IMO and its not your daily driver.

..... that those things can happen to a standard engine. Stage 3 isn't stressing it too much, especially if you are not driving it hard all the time. What condition is the engine in at the moment?

Steve,

Seems to be OK (touch wood!) 59k on the clock, i'm pretty well behaved letting her warm up fully before giving it some..

Just wondered if my dosh would be spent better elsewhere.......

What with a mortgage in the horizon, last thing i'd need is a dead cossie!!

But it still happens to the best of them!!

I don't know.........also heard that 803's don't supply the fueling good enough towards the 330bhp mark! Looks like a chat might be needed with Ahmed!

All Cossies should have 803s as STANDARD . Do NOT go above this if you are worried about reliability. Greens are the thresh-hold of this. Makes the Escort a much nicer car to drive (as they're slow as fuck as standard).

Stage 3 is no problems for your engine at all if it is set up right!

Do it!!!! Many people say the 330bhp spec is the "best spec" for a cossie as its not much extra stress and everything can more or less cope!

Though u will soon get the bug and want more
