Will an RS1600i gearbox fit in a mk2 xr2 with out any mods???

i`ve been offered one cheap and would like it as a spare ect for my car

yeah the box itself will go straight in mate, you'll ned the early mk2 xr gearlinkage though, might require some modding if yours is a late one.
