A guy came around to pick some parts up from me earlier and claims he had a 1989 mk4 Escort GT which he said was basically a mk4 RS1600i.
I'd never heard of one. He claimed it was one of the rarest performance escort's you can get?? WTF?

 

To my knowledge, it wasn't a Ford model, possibly some sort of 'dealer special' I'd have thought.....unless of course it's an American Escort GT lol

 

probably a 1.4 with a gti badge on the back

 

I thought the only GT badged car ford did was the 1996- GTi

 

maybe the 'i' fell off?

 

maybe he bought the gt badge himself and made the car a gt that way,was nice meeting u earlier and ive decided with a bit of persuasion from sum mates that im going to use the s1 sideskirts aswell now instead of blending the s2 skirts

There was a Sierra GT. It was just a standard 2 litre (125bhp) though.

 

I'm sure the only Escort GT released in the UK was the 96-> GTi

 

it could of been another version of the XR just badge different in other countrys.

this is a customers ERST in greece, yet it has many different parts compared to our ERST's here. But it is still called an RST. not GT Turbo

The customer was in Cardif studying and was looking for a component and called Ian from RaceTech he was then was passed my contact number.

He then came over and bought a kit, then took it to greece and fitted it himself. When he done most of bolt on stuff he bought me a ticket and asked me over for 4days while the Olimpics was on in Athens.

After the first day i had the car running and storming down the motorway... we then had the rest of the time to enjoy the motor.

His car is now over here from Greece he done 1500km and decided he now wants the same as Gareth's 16vZT
