Take it back to them mate!! Mine (from the same place) has had loads of abuse (4k miles) and is still ok even though it is a standard turbo and only running 14psi.

Nuts RuS, Cheers, the car was not that yellow, it was taken during a sunset which
made it that colour but will use you sig cause it is whiter, thanks

the turbo i had was a standard turbo with cossie compressor wheel and 360 bearing
fitted, spoke to the guys at Turbo Force and they said it has been a coolant
problem, saying that it aint been getting oil, now if thats the case i am fucked cause
the oil feed pipe is a brand spanker, so might be an internal problem, going to go
and check it soon. and i aint tried the 5th yet

cheers B8, pm'd back

i just tested my oil line and oil was coming through but took 10 seconds to
reach turbo end (of the line) is this quick enough, as i thought that the turbo
should have oil in it immediately as soon as engine started to run, help pls?

It takes a few seconds to suck up from the sump, down the oil gallery, through the filter and down the oil pipe to the turbo mate. There always will be a delay on start up.

Tell them that the engine has just had a vast amount of money spent on it with new everything including oil feed pipe and the block acid dipped and cleaned and the oil pressure checked. Tell them the readings was 3 bar at 2000 rpm (should be 2.8). See what they say.

Take the invoice from MSD for the engine rebuild as it may help your case.

What oil are you using Andy? If it's shite oil, it might not be cooling the turbo properly (burning up inside the turbo).

John, the forms have been filled in by my mate, all we have to do is turn up,

Daz, the oil was Castrol Pro (somet like) 10w60, Andy Walters recommended it
as i could not find any 10w50, went into Turbo Force and told them all
about the rebiuld of the engine and new oil feed line, showed them the
receipt and said there is no problem with the oil feed cause its all been checked,
they tried selling me a T34 , but told them just to sort mine out, they are ringing
me on Monday and sorting it, i think i aint going to end up paying ought.

You don't have the head flow for a T34 if you haven't had a ported head.....

So are they going to repair it FOC or at least contibute towards it?

I use Silkolene Pro R. Stu sells Pro S and Pro R which probably would be better. Pro R is 15w50 and Pro S is 10w50. Both are fully synthetic unlike the Castrol

i got some 10w50 of stu on wedneday but forgot to pick it up

Stu said that it was 'bull' that it was oil starvation, which is a good enough
explanation for me

Daz, i reckon Turbo Force are either going to sort it for free or do it at a reduced
price, and with regards to the T34, it was too big, i thought i would need headwork
to use it, plus it would require all new boost hoses which is just more money

Fingers crossed for Tuesday Andy

As for oil starvation, thats the standard line from most turbo supplies in a warranty case as its the hardest for you as an owner to dissprove and id have put money on it being the reply before you even took the turbo back to them! I guess he didnt count on your 20year old car just having had a brand new engine build... lol

Its annoyed me to be honest as they cast a small shadow of doubt in your mind about my own workmanship in a vain attempt to get themselves off the hook.

E-Mail em this link as well...

My car has been on Pro R since 1000 miles and is now on 6000 miles. No turbo issues here.

The only difference between mine and yours is the spec of the tubo and the oil used. I have been told that using a poor grade of oil can degrade in the turbo due to the heat and burn up but considering the low amount of miles your car has done I cannot see this being the issue!

I think they (who built it) are at fault somewhere along the line......still.

me and turbo force have come to an agreement, they are fixing it and i am paying
for parts, no labour which is £170, if after another 3k, the turbo ges they are
going to blame a oil supply for the fault, however, if it lasts they are going to
accept responsibility and give me a full refund, i better change oil before i use it.

Fair in a fashion, but lets face it, if the turbos built of shonky parts, it will never take 20psi no matter what oil is in it.

Tricky one......

of a Lotus Espirit Turbo. i spoke to stu ealier on today and it is booked in for 24th
for set up, need to change oil on it before i drive it though so i aint got 10w60
in the turbo, Mobil 1 Motorsport 15w50 is getting used for time being till i get the
Silkolene, going to get it from halfords tonight and put turbo back on tomorrow
night cause playing foot ball tonight
