is there a easy way to get the braided pipe into the fitting without the metal fraying

get someone who does it for a living to make up the hoses for you with the fittings on them.

it shouldn't be too expensive.

fookin coont of a thing!! Makes a nice mess of your hands too!

Only ever done it once but found it was all in the cutting, put masking tape over where you are gonna cut(cut through the tape it so doesnt fray as much), twist it into the fitting

The trick is to make sure you tape before you cut the hose, and then trim off any small bits that stick out at all.

Once you're done that, you should have no problem.

wrap in tape ( dont have to be masking, ive used insulation tape ) and stick in vice as dave said then cut with ya angle grinder, theres not a job that cant be done with a grinder

wrap in masking tape,use tin snips for a quick clean cut,then prick your fingers on the stuff lol

tin snips for frayed bits, a fine junior hacksaw and masking tape.
