you wont be able to get the turbos from anywhere except turbotechnics... and expect a long wait for parts to be shipped form US.

Mine cost me just under 1k exchange as they were too fubared to be refurbed.

i thought that xr4i in fast ford with 2.9 twin turbo was good with
270 bhp!

Any idea's what you can out of a single turbo on the old 2.8 lump's

yes, theyre 2.8s so they'll accept a 2.8TT kit (TT meaning turbotechnics) which is single turbo T3

theyre a lot more common than 2.9 twinturbo kits infact...

4i, XR4x4, Capri, Granda there are turbo kits floating about for them all over the place. I had an XR4x4 2.8 turbo for a few years and I about to turbo convert my 4i.

The kits give big increases of power but you need to start digging deep if you want anything special and go beyond that. The most common thing to do is just whack a single turbo kit on a bog standard 2.8 which see's about 200bhp and a shedload of torque.

I have photos of the various single turbo parts here

As you'll see the single turbo uses a Garret T3.

A lot of people make the mistake of buying them and thinking they can get a lot more out of them like a cossie. But it gets expensive as the engines are real boat anchors.

I have a 2.9 XR4x4 TT and it's excellent fun. Vertually no lag, excellent traction too, and no one gives you a second look!

Bit silly for a temporary runabout really!
