Brand new and unreg EsCos value?
A dealer I know has a brand new and unreg dry stored EsCos Lux in black with all options inc elec opening qtrs, heated seats, aircon etc. He asked me what I thought it was worth and I reckoned between £25k and £30k max. The car cost him £23,750 back in 1993 and he reckons its worth £40k+.
What would you pay for a new EsCos?

if he had regaistered it and not used it yes it would be worth big money but and unregistered car in my opinion is nor worth no where near what hea asking as then the questioned will always be asked if its just been built.there an RS500 also floating around in the same situation basically worth sod all than what it would be worth if registered at the correct time
Cam, theres a white escos on the autotrader website, aircon, leather, says it has delivery miles (300) its up for a tad under 30k, but its been on there for a long time.
I also think that because its never been registered that its value is less as it will be on a 53 plate ( for example ) and will never look like a real escoss ,,it would have been much better if registered but zero miles , IMO , a Old car with a new plate will look like a built up car and nobody will want it

Its potentially worth good money at the moment for novelty value of being unregistered etc.
But if you go out and register it now, then in two years time its an 05 plate escos that looks as bent as mike rainbird in leather gear and wont be worth fook all cause its not original due to wrong registration and its no longer the novelty of an unused car.
Basically its been ruined as an actual car, and is now just purely a novelty item really unless someone got it for very sensible money off the guy.
Especially when you factor in the amount of money its going to cost to ensure its road worthy and nothing has seized etc.
Personally if i had 25K for an escos, i would want one i could drive and i wouldnt spend it on that one, so less than that i reckon.
BUT, someone with more money than sense will probably give him 40K for it anyway at some point, so if i was him that is indeed what i would be looking for to sell it.
I don't get all this wrong plate rubbish. Who cares what kind of registration plate it has? It's brand new Escos, so if it was cared about mechanically it's one of the few chances to have new Escos for people who didn't have one when they were produced. Wonder if there are any LHD ones lke that ....

I appreciate your point about it being left standing and it being spolied as far as being a drivers car but you remarked on the originality when it's 100% original

then in 2 years you are selling an 05 reg car with no miles and im selling an unregistered car with no miles, i firmly believe yours would fetch less money.

I agree compeltely and wouldnt ever want a bufty zero mile car, cause that means you cant enjoy it from behind the wheel or the value drops largely.

I would like to have brand new Escos even if it was build up from parts yesterday. That would mean that I wouldn't have all those problems I had for last two years trying to fix stuff after former owners, getting obsolete parts and so on. It doesn't matter to me when it was registered and such other stupid stuff. It's going to go up in value soon either way so depraciation isn't much of a problem too.
It is NOT a brand new escos, its a dozen year old one, and will probably have MORE faults to fix than a low milage used once a month example!

You don't know that. Maybe it was prepared somehow for such a long storage?
