are s1 and s2 sunrooofs exactly the same? i.e direct replacement. So as my s1's sunroof is knackered, could i just stick a s2 sunroof in; aint bothered about green tint glass or anything like that, just don't want a rusty sunroof.

I've done this swap to both my cars. One must take the sunroof glass, the surroundings and the tilting meachnism from the S2 sunroof. Then the actual rail-system is needed from the S1. Othervise good luck, as it ain't a direct swap.

 

ask the peeps on the rs1600i section, someone on there has done this
and put a detailed description on how to do it,, there is a chap with a 16i no plate AMY who also wants to do it,, they are a pretty helpful bunch
