Default Bailey breather kit fitting

FItted my second hand one today and couldn't see anywhere for the pipe from breather to plenum to go so just plumbed it up with a bit of wood.

Is it correct that you just block it off?

I 'think' you can get a blocker - just a bit of plastic - fits in same hole with same thread from Bailey

Or, alternatively get an ACT gauge

Hi ,just see in youre engine picture that you have no cambelt cover fitted,I'd advise you to refit it as a stone could get jammed between the belt and pulley resulting in piston to valve contact, not a cheap fix!!!!Regards Micky

edited as my spelling was woefull!!

Since fitting the baileys ive seen some mayonnaise on the underside of the oil filler cap

What could that be? I cant see it being my head gasket as the coolant is fine

someone missplaced the helmans?....

might be sumit from the breather itsself from the last owner perhaps?unless its new then havent a clue! could have been sumit jammed in your engine but now that it breathes better its a little looser.?

What were the original pipe's like when you took them off?

If you havent lost any coolant and under the cap isnt all that bad i wouldnt worry too much.Short journeys can cause this effect under the oil cap

Original pipes had a bit of oil gunk in them - They were still original!!

I drove about 5 miles and had a look and was a thin film of mayo under there

Just flush all the pipes out with a high pressure tap - and then let them dry
Put all back in place and should be ok

How often is the oil changed? - serious question

As said, short journeys WILL cause this problem due to the oil not getting hot enough
