Default OFFERS REQUIRED (Sensible!) Escort Cosworth GRP A Shell

Hi Chaps

I have for sale a genuine Ford Escort Cosworth Group A bodyshell that was once a proper works rally car.

Why not take this shell and put your 2wd or 4wd Sapphire into it, most of the parts will swap straight over. Why not buy a damaged road car and make yourself a decent track car using this shell? Consider buying a cheap car on e-bay to make use of this shell? (see e-bay car details at bottom of notes). You all know how great Escort Cosworths look and handle, this is your chance to own one to track/race/rally or even road use for very little outlay compared to the normal Escort Cosworth cost.

The shell was prepared by D.O.M.E and has all the usual extra brackets that you would require to fit the GRP A suspension (Not WRC type). The Group N or standard parts will also fit of course.

The shell has a V5 registration document and an MSA competition logbook. The shell has a 1993 "L" plate registration complete with 3 door Ford Escort body type and 2000cc engine. It does not say Cosworth on the logbook but this is not a problem. I guarantee the car was and could be again on the road using these documents.

The shell is the tarmac specification and so it has the reinforced chassis rails and the solid extra thick floor panels. It is not to be confused with a GRP N shell or a shell that has been used of forest rallies and has suffered badly from gravel rash.

The shell is in good condition structually and has a bright but decent paint job for an ex rally car. There are a few minor dings in the bodywork but not enough in my opinion to require repairing if the shell was to be used for track/racing/rallying purposes. Don't expect concourse condition for this type of used shell but its certainly no dog either! The inside could do with a good clean.

The shell has the usual GRP A Safety Devices cage with full suspension point pick ups, I cant remeber the number of weld in points buts its the proper works item. The shell is complete with genuine bonnet and vents, fibreglass tailgate, rear spoilers and sideskirts. The shell also comes with a full set of tinted perspex windows and the front screen is the proper heated type. There is also a very smart looking flocked dash fitted in the car.

The shell is located near Newbury in Berkshire and I can deliver to you anywhere in the country for some help with the petrol money. I would even be prepared to lend the purchaser my bodyshell trolley (as seen in the pics below) if it helps you move it around whilst building up your car?

Call me on 07770-225671 if you have any questions or leave a message on this board. Please do not waste my time or leave comments that are not directly related to the sale of this shell, thanks Bob

I have no GRP A parts for sale but I do have lots of useful parts that you may want to use in addition to the donor Sapphire, ie fire eater system and carbon door cards etc.

What about using something like this on e-bay as the base for you project? My shell would get rid of the "Q" plate.

PRICE £2650 please, 07770-225671, Bob.

hi dangerous - reyland

yes you did see it in banbury about a week ago, you are very observant.
i visited central blasting as i passed through banbury last week.
the car just happened to be on the trailer that just happened to be behind my car.

i am impressed with your observation, have you ever been on crimewatch as a witness?

regards

Default Escort Cossie Shell

Hi Chaps

I need to clear this shell out of the way now as I have a couple of other projects on the go and the space is very much needed.

If anyone is interested then I would be prepared to accept a genuine and sensible offer for the shell to solve the space problem for myself.

Contact me on 07770-225671 or on here if you are interested?

Thanks
Bob
