Default Disaster pls HELP

Front mount intercooler, why did I ever get one because a double capacity intercooler would of being fine!!!

Yesterday, I decided to fit my new front mount intercooler(Radteck, which is ok I know not the best but reasonably priced)....I fitted a new alloy radiator about 2 weeks ago and I was running on a standard Ford intercooler. The car was running ok at abount 11 psi.

I wanted more boost so I said I better fit a new intercooler which I did sort off...

Everything seemed to be fine after about 2hrs of fitting/ arsing around...Looked cool, then the moment of truth...Started the engine.....You know when the belt is loose and you have this screaching or wining noise... I said fook. After 2-3 minutes, the motor burnt out on the fan and it bust a hole in the radiator

How I fitted same: I put the fan(spal fan which I think is a slimline, looked smaller the the original, which was the size of a fan in your kitchen!!) on the back of the radiator. I knew it was tight to the turbo and actuator but where else could it fooking go...The motor on the the fan, the metal bar which is in the centre of the fan motor was rubbing of the radiator and bored a hole in the back of the radiator

Pls can someone give me the correct procedure to fit a front mount intercooler, what parts I need, spacers if needed, what gap should between the fan and turbo, what size fan i.e. 7 inch/ 10 inch what dept etc, where should the fan go on the back etc.....In advance, thanks for your help.

your mistake there was fitting the fan on the wrong side of the rad, it should ideally go inbetween the rad and ic or like james infront of the ic, but on most cars this isnt sufficient for cooling.

with the rad tec there is no room between rad and cooler!

is well annoying! unless u move rad back and move cooler forward (bend them brackets to help) then u might just be able to squeeze it in there!

I had my fan on the front of my Radtek and found the car ran very hot but with a bit of cutting of the front bumper i managed to get the fan in between the rad and the cooler and to be honest their is quite a bit of room could easily fit another one plus the car now runs a lot cooler

Where's the best place to buy a slimline fan to fit inbetween the intercooler and radiator as I don't fancy cutting my bumper up?

Cheers
Dave
