Default Series 1 Pace intercooler??

Does anyone on here run a pace intercooler? Are they any good and what sort of increase in performace did you get???? The reason i ask is looks dead easy to replace the O.E one for theres and it will also keep the original look aswell and i'm not looking for loads of power. Mines running a Superchip, 15psi, K&N, Mongoose full system. At the moment its running 165bhp with the standard intercooler. I must admitt the charge temp does run qute high when it gets some

ive had two of them now, and agree they do look like original equipment.

there suppose to be 50% more efficiant, if thats true i dot know however i had a 5 bhp gain when i fitted mine and ran 17 psi through it for 2 years no problems befor i sold.

im running a pro alloy front mount cooler at the mo and thats a nice bit of kit however pricey at £400 or sumut like that and there not the easyest to fit and u have to trim your front panel so if your after ease of fit and original look the pace isnt a bad deal. the exchange is worth doing as that save you £50. shop around though to get teh good deals or get a 2nd hand one cheaper

ive got the pro alloy rad and intercooler package, i had an over heating issue any way with the car which has now been solved with a tee piece that pro alloy did as im running a s2 turbo ( water cooled turbo ) ive also got the fans on a switch so can turn um on when ever i want

i can basiaclly run what ever boost i want now with the pro alloy although the pace item did its job fine with 17 psi. i never had a charge air temp gauge so never realy knew what it was like however it ran 188 bhp with very basic mods for 2 years so thats my 2p worth.

if your after a very nice looking functional intercooler then you wont go far wrong with the pro alloy front mount.... never had any dealings with rad tech but im sure there just as good.

Thanks for the response, do you know what power gains you got with the PRO-ALLOY ?

I'm currently getting 194 bhp at 12.5 psi on a Forge Motorsport IC (and a few other mods) which is very similar to the standard S1 job. My problem is that I don't want to start cutting the shell. I've got an ACT gauge to fit so I'm going to look at temps and then wind it up to 15 psi and see how the current IC copes.

I found it made no difference at all

Made same power on rollers and my engine tuner says the cores are crap.

Now running a GRS and its made a massive diffence

Would have liked a pro alloy but they werent doing them back then

Well with the GRS fitted it felt much stronger at higher revs plus allowed me to run a lot more boost, now the only thing holding is back is the fueling.

Was a bit of a pig to fit,you have to remove turbo and manifold and trim a bit out of front panel for the fan,i fitted a kenlowe

Had it set up by Karl Norris and he rated it highly
