Would consider both modded and unmodded.
Could stretch to £1500 but budget is £1300 ideally.
Must be under 100k miles.

Shouldn't be a problem on an Si, poss even a GTI at £1500.

When you view them, make sure it is from cold, these lumps suffer from sticking valves so will misfire slightly, don't be fobbed off with "needs a set of plugs"

Had this once, asked the guy why he was knocking 500 notes of the asking price for the misfire if it was just a £10 set of plugs?? He didn't answer.

I will keep my eyes peeled for you.

Was up at wilsons auctions in Dalry through the week, only seen one decent car going through... a mercedes cosworth! first time ive ever saw one in "real life"!

Rekon auctions are the way to go though?

No mate its red i bought it of an old boy ran it for
a couple of years then sold it on to my mate who has had
it for a couple of years. Pretty much standard car apart from
the kit and wheels

 

Some from my area auto trader this week mate, to give you an idea.

Silver N plate Si 1.8, standard car, 69K, FMDSH, electric pack, looks very clean £1495 Thats Rugeley

Black Si 1.8 S plate 2 owners 97K, looks well £1550 that is inshropshire, both are 5 door though

GTI in silver, looks well with 17" alloys, s/s exhaust electrics and half leather, fsh and 2 owners £1995. Thats Nottingham.

Should get slightly cheaper motors up north closer to you.

Ive been keeping an eye on the autotrader, all the good cars seem to be miles away! wouldnt mind buying one from down south, its just the fact i dont want to travel for hours to see a "minter" only to see an absolute heap, that was a waste of time and money going to see
