Project 2.0L mk5 Fiesta *UPDATED*
Hello everyone
My names Aaron and I've got a project i'd like to share with you
Comments and advice very welcome as i don't know what I'm doing half the time
Here's the story so far. I had a mk5 fiesta with a 1.25 zetec engine

Then I had clever idea of taking my old engine out.And putting a 2.0L silver top zetec in it

I've upgraded the front brakes to the st170 300mm setup
I've got focus 2.0L rears but I'm not sure if I will need them????
I bought a gearbox yesterday after lots of help finding out which was the one for the job
It's a 1.3endura gearbox from a mk5 fiesta. It has the correct bellhousing hole pattern and mounting points i need.
That ment I could do this today....

I'm not to sure how to mount the engine yet
, hopefully It won't be with cardboard
I've made a template out for a bracket, using the mondeo engine mounts
and my original mount as a guide.
Does this seem ok to you guys or will this all go wrong and rock to pieces,
is there any other way I could mount the block.

Hope you like it

I can see where your going with the offside mount, but i'd be a bit worried about serious engine rock!
Seeing as its on a pivot like it is, and with the block mounts so far out, thats gonna swing like a bitch.
You'll nead at least two IMHO

Good to see someone doing something a bit different,
As far as the engine mount goes i think you've got it bang on as this is the exact configuration as the zetec se that you had in the first place, i.e. 1 rear lower gearbox mount, 1 upper gearbox mount and 1 engine mount. As its the lower gearbox 'dogbone' mount that restrains the engine from pivoting about the other two mounts, rocking should not be an issue unless the engine is going to be very wild. I think the only thing you will need to consider is making sure the mount that you are making doesnt get in the way of any ancilliaries or the head itself etc.
Hope this helps
cheers

I fancied doing something similar, was gonna sell my Zs and buy a higher mileage jobby then drop a 2.0L in with some happy gas for good times!!
Keen to see how others get on first though
Keep going mate, will be cool when it done

Hello it's been a little while since my last update.
I've managed to mount the engine properly

Got a few things to sort out like the downpipe, inlet manafold, power steering, breather system and cooling. But basically it's just a matter of putting it back together now

Oh yeah and has anyone looked at the flap on a 2.0L zetec throttle body does it have a small pin hole in it? Or is mine fooked and there was a bit of metal sucked through my inlet?
