you would have to explane a littel more than that.but cheack the timming and fuel presure it sounds more like you have a bad boost leak get some wd40 or injector cleaner and spray around inlet manfold and if the revs go up you no thers the leak

what have you replaced so far if i was you i would take out the plugs and cheack the coulor and condition and then cheack the sensor that is near the crank pully wich is the is it big turbo or samll turbo model as if its the small turbo it could be the air flow meter sounds like your timming is retarded

I know this is gonna sound a little stupid....... check the bottom pulley is done up... we had a very similar problem last week on an Escort Cos and the pulley was loose (bolt was undone by about 10mm) and the pulley was wobbling about giving a dodgy signal to the CPS

been out in it today and its strange as fook

Everything on the SECS monitor seems fine, no irratic readings or anything.

Its got a brand new loom (probs were there before the new loom) so its Not
dodgy connections.

there dont seem to be any misfiring, so it dont seem like its ignition/

BUT Its Laggy as FOOK dont boost hardly at all below 4000 rpm.

Is it possible to have a Stiff/siezed actuator?

on the road it seems like its driving up hill all the time, very laboured,
and then the boost seems to come in very suddenly and all 25 psi at once too
(thats how it seemed anyway)

thought it may have been the TPS, but shows full thottle sweep on the SECS monitor.

i thought it may have been to do with fuel pressure.

dunno, would of thoght it would be either misfiring like mad if it was not fuelling right, or plooming smoke out the back or somethin if it was overfuelling?

hmmm, someone must have an idea lol,, its annoying me as well now! lol

are you runing off a amal valve or a bleed valve or air injectors .this might sound stupid but take a look at you compresor wheel on the turbo that might have a broken fan blade look on both sides exshust aswell it still might boost up but only at very high revs. i had the same problem it felt like the timing was retarded and it turned out to be the ecu/chip fault

yeah i personally think its an ECU\Map issue.

As the car is in desperate need of a proper live map

abdr500, we looked at the compressor.. no blades missing, No play in shaft.
turbo was ok.. also looked at boost hose, no holes in it.

Ryan, nige said you thought that.,.. it would make a lot of sense if its an ECU issue!
but it seems to acutally Function ok,. its just sluggish, and dont make boost where it should. but everthing works (eventually)
which is why i thought about actuator or something similar

apart for the priming issue. Badly needs everything setting up really.

Boost, fuel pressure, and a general look over.

on stand still if you was to rev it does it rev clean or ist it still delayed even when revd on idel some how you have low comp it it sounds like it needs degres of spark added at lowere revs

yes its delayed even when stand still and revving it, i.e not under load.

Comp is stupidly low, far too low IMO.

not being funny but if its ver low comp then it could be worn bores pistons head head gasket or simpley it was low comp and the advance part on the map chip ecu is not addvanceing the spark to alow it to rev had the same problem turned out to be the chip need more advance of spark so they added 5 degres of spark its now flying but that was because it whent low comp out of the blue it whent bang in the end worn pisstons and bores

Actually Nigel I was in bed last night thinking about what it could be and I am CONVINCED that it's a boost leak..........

Why? because I had exactly the same symptoms when my turbo to intercooler pipe had split (under the pipe where you could not see it)....

Baffled me for ages..........as it would (eventually) still make full boost but was very sluggish to build up boost.

I now have an alloy "plug" with an airline fitting attached, borrow it if you want, or come round to my place and we can test it . You disconnect the air filter (90° hose) and fit the alloy plug to it, then do up the jubalee clip, next connect up compressed air line at the SAME PSI as your maxium boost (eg 28 PSI).......If there is an air leak - it will be very obvious AND easy to find

First time you use it, you would prob find that there are air leaks everywhere .....especially plenium joints/inlet manifold......most of the leaks are "minor" but they all add up.......brush soapy water all over the joins and it bubbles up.....It will even show up a leaking/damaged intercooler easily, some times a leak is so bad you can feel with your hand exactly where the air is escaping from

When you fix ALL the leaks it is like your engine has gained 20-30 BHP
