I’ve found a sierra mk1 2.0glsi hatch rear spoiler.
Are they the same as an RS500 lower spoiler, but without the cutout for the fin?

 

To look at yes, but not made from the same rubber.

500 one is made from a much softer rubber

 

yes there is 1 that came on the sierra that is identical apart from the cut out should have the number ? il just take a look

and phil, i know its padantic, but i ripped off a while ago, buying a so called "RS500 lower spoiler"

So didnt want anyone else to make the mistake

 

Both the RS500 lower fin and the 2.0is one have exactly the same part number embosed onto them Ryan so i doubt the rubber is any different mate!
Just for the record i once sold a 2.0is one on Ebay for Ł450 + delivery

Phil do you mean an extra digit? As the 2.0is one i sold had exactly the same number as a genuine 500 i sold! The genuine ones don't just have a shonky cut-out for the fin either it is properly done at manufacture with a little lip on it.

 

Have an original and a 2.0i sierra one here, both look the same apart from the centre cut out, also got loads of fibreglass copies if you need any.

It won't make much over a ton these days as Ebay is now swamped with people selling stuff When i 1st started using it there were only ever about 5 pages of Cossie items but now there are 30+ most of the time!

they are not the same.

The genuine ones go all the way over the edge and cover the rear qtr whereas the 2.0iS spoilers only cover the bootlid.

Steve @ SCC told me that they are identical to each other except for 1 different digit in the part number...i very much doubt Ford would have 2 parts,which WERE different only if it was for a cut out,the same part number!

The 500/2.0is ones don't have holes in them for screws and they are longer extending over the rear quarters!

The 2.0is ones and the 500 ones do extend over the quarters but that one Wyn has posted a pic off is not of either of those.

The 2.0is was a mk1 sierra and had the same width spoiler as the 500
The others where all fitted with that narrower one like Wyns pic!

 

2.0is is the one you want mate from a mk1 sierra

 

spadge i had an original and a non original side by side mate as i bought 2 off you know who.

Checked on 3 500's and all had soft rubber fins.

 

i think iam addicted now mate.




better go and list this rs500 lower rear spoiler now.
