Drove 200 miles across the country to pick up a mint S1 exhaust and when I got there it was a fooken S2 exhaust!!!!

No, it was an original Ford one "supposedly" from a 1985 "B" reg car, however it was blatantly an S2 box - even had the date stamp of 10 89 on it.

 

Obviously had been bodged onto the S1 at some point

 

Pisses you off dunnit mate. Same when ya go to look at cars and they say " it's mint mate, the one for you. . . " blah blah. Soon as ya get there you know it's a pile of doggie doo. Why can't people just be honest ? Not hard like is it !

Do you think the lad actually knew though?Because in fairness if he took it off an S1 he may well have thought he was being genuine enough with you?

 

In fairness - possibly not. It looks like it was bodged onto his S1 before he bought it - he removed it for a stainless and kept it. Still a fookin pisser having driven 400 miles round trip in a big ass Chrysler Voyager that sups juice costing me nearly 60 quid for fook all.

The other problem was that he didn't have a pc and was a mate of a mate of a mate etc - so I couldn't get any pictures - and the phone conversation sort of went "yeah it's the original one of my low mileage S1 that I have since sold with a stainless on it" - so I went up there blind (but in good faith).

Ah well. In future I want pictures!!

can you not just get a standard S1 from bosal or ford if you need to keep it concors,

because 400mile is a shit load of juice man
