Default Sidelights on when braking!

I noticed today that when I brake my sidelights on the front come on! LOL

Has anybody else had this problem and what could it be?

Thanks

Sounds like all bad earths up the rear, take apart the rear lights, all the connectors will be shitted up, probably from water getting in. Check earths up the front too.

Yeah, something shorting out, my unlce had a Skoda before and everytime he indicated his horn came on lmao. It turned out it was a short, so the power was going elsewhere, or something like that.

it could be that brake light fitted wrong mate

cus when i came out to you the other nite and got you on your way again i sorted that light that wasnt on

basically you got crap connection on the back lights hence why the light came on and off

could be that power cable aswell

ill get round to sort it soon mate

ring me if any probs

You'd be surprised!

People have an amazing ability to fit bulbs wrong!

I see about 5 a week especially headlight bulbs.

Classic brake light flash when you indicate and brake.

but if the side lights come on when you brake it'll certanly be a bulb fitted wrong.

Take one brake light out at a time and see which one cures it then find out why its faulty.

hey i can agree with the incorect fitting of bulbs, even though there holding pins are at different heights people wedge the bulb in the holder and destroy the plastic

what i dont get about that is why would the side lights come on as when there fitted incorrect the side light comes on brighter ad the brake light is duller, there aint a sort in the system caused by it,

i know this btw as i fitted by rear brake bulb the very first time ages ago and the old bill used it as a excuse to tug me

the disco lights is the multi plug having a bad connection or coroded, again very comon on mk4 escorts too, there shite cars aint they, why do we bother

The bulb is in so wrong the brake light section of the bulb touches the side light section of the holder, bridging the power and turning them all on.

Same as moose 130 say's have seen it when people have fitted a single element
bulb where a double element bulb should be fitted for the stop and tail light.
