can anybody tell me how you can tell if a erst gearbox has an lsd or not

there should be a hole to look down, if it has a bar through it its dont have lsd

 

If its still on the car jack the front up and spin the wheels by hand - if they both spin the same way it has LSD

Or as radders says check the holes where the driveshafts go into it, if you see a bar cross ways inside it has no LSD.
