FAO Escos owners-How cool are Escort Cosworths!
Being an Escos owner I get used to seeing my car-even if it mostly tucked up in the garage, but today whilst driving through Botley a tiny sleepy village in hampshire I caught sight of a whale tail in the distance, nice mallard Escos parked in a layby looked totally standard and in lovely condition-made my day
A 12 year old car that still gives me goosebumps
, they have so much presence on the road.
will never take mine for granted again
anyone know what I mean

if you get goosebumps from seeing one on the road... You should try getting in it and ragging it for abit

I've found the Escort draws attention good and bad.
I realise it's an unusual car and you hardly see them but it does get a bit tidious when you go out for a quick spin and you get other drivers egging you on for a race or driving right up your ar*e.
The nice flip side is when you're parked up and people come and ask you about it.

my car is mint, concours condition and I show it as much as I can, the attention at the shows is fantastic but the best feeling about owning a big power "BUFTY" machine like mine is when guys like you are scattered with the stones that are flung up by me when I kick your ass at ***mph when I lash ya!! Should have seen the look on the face of the Scooby driver on saturday on the way up to aberdeen, quality!!
So why dont you
off about your views on concours cars......cue Ian3dr, another hard driving Bufty!!

I know exactly what you mean! I sold my Mallard green escort a few months back because it sat in the garage most of the time. Now I really miss it
Ill probably start looking for another one later in the year

Ive said it a million times, and ill say it again...
Without "bufty's" shows wouldnt be worth going to, end of.
When your at a show, do you ignore all the bufty cars? far from it, they get the most attention, most looks etc etc...
So, give them their dues. Everyone has differnt opinions on buftys, im not one, but i respect them, i can see where they are coming from. However, if/when
i have a big powered car, ill be driving it as often as possible, but it'll get the bufty treatment now and then

Know what you mean, I saw my escos being driven away the other night (well I didn't, cos I was too scared, but I KNOW it was being moved lol) Afterwards when driving the 'old mans' astra
I YEARNED For the escos. I do get a bit para when everyone bogs at it, but it's okay. But I've never driven such a pullable car. The police seem obsessed with it!

Driven everyday, after all, it is a car
Even the the way home from work today had a chap clapping
dunno if he was taking the piss tho
I respect concours and the amount of time / effort... but personally detest it.. even washing it is a chore for me
it isnt for that exact reason...its cos ya cant afford to do it! MOST people who slag people for not using THEIR car all the time and doing with it what THEY want are people that cannot afford to that with a car end of....gealousy
Lee, I know that wasn't directed at me, but I have two other cars sat on the drive and given the choice, the EsCos wins for me every time, whatever the weather - I've tried the daily runner and EsCos for weekends etc. but can't do it (tried with my other one too, but failed there too).
lee, that is well and truely utter bollox..
I spent Esc cossie money travelling round the world for a year last time, so I can assure you, the reason why I dont want a car that I keep in the garage and dont drive it, just clean it, is not for money reasons
I have another car for parking in the ghetto parts round here

Seen a mallard green one coming onto the M62 from Warrington this morning and nearly crashed looking at it coming down the slip road, looked good.
If the missus drives it for any reason, I have to watch her drive off in it
I do exactly the same.
Dave.
Each to their own and all that Lee
(though I do think cars are for driving
)
I know what you're saying Westy, BUT that makes it look like "I have a Citroen also"
Just for the record, I DO NOT OWN A CITROEN, nor would I ever admit to it!!!
Dave - Do you think it's a bit sad
? Maybe....... do they look phat when they roar off? DEFINITELY

- I remember staring at mine when it was taken off on a lowloader (cos it broke down
)I kept staring till it was a little blob in the distance and thought how nice is that car
Mat
Mind you the only time ive seen my car being driven away by someone else was when I sold it
<-- (real tears, lol)
