Default RS Turbo Engine Help ASAP

Just rebuilt the bottom end, cranked the engine round and the pistons protude above the block face by about 2 - 3 mm.

Each one is the same, there has been NO change of the crank, conrods or pistons.

Is this meant to happen?? i cant remember when i took the engine apart.

The only reason i ask is that i thought they were meant to be low compression engines and surely this would make them alot higher??

any help much appreciated.

yes mate, they do stick out the top of the block and TDC, they should be about level with an head gaske on the top of the block.

dan,

i remember when i rebuilt my block! I had exactly the same worry!

As steve said they should be about leavel with a head gasket when its back on.

great minds... and all that.

cheers guys that is a relief!

I think they are roughly level with the headgasket, maybe slightly over.

Now my problems just ly with this dam lacquer on the car!! never am i spraying a car again!!
