Re-wired a saff yesterday with one on, the quality of the cooler was 100% better and thicker...

Did these change at all or is mine a cut and shut job LOL....

Anyone got any images.. ?

 

Maybe yours has a different core with 500 end tanks

well they look like 500 ends, but the core does look very thin

 

Just checked with some old pictures, certainly looks like a 500 cooler.

But i guess its hard to tell about the core

yeah my old 4x4 coooler (BEHR Core) had a very similar core to the pictures you have jsut posted

i have seen a few thats claim to be genuine and they were a litle diff from each other.

as long as they do the bussiness on the car who cares if they are "genuine" or not?

 

it doesnt rapid, hence why dingy is changing it.

and now since he's seen this other cooler, he's questioning if his is a genuine item

yeah the genuine one seemed to be the "daddy" for all these years but people are now realising there are better products available...

personally i think 500 ones are fine if you already have one.

I wouldnt change it if i owned one.

But then i wouldnt buy one if i needed a cooler, as for the money there is better options out there.

Not all RS500 coolers were made by BEHR!
Apparently BEHR stopped making them and another firm , i can't remember the name of them? , started making them for Ford at a later date. This may explain the fact that they are not the same although both are 500 items!

 

henry mine is a silver 500 i/c made by modine too

no worries re behr one i have a behr core sat in the garage (presume same cores on rs500 as 4*4?)

claw get a custom one made for it lad, i got 2 4*4 coolers you can have for cheeeeap

Cheers for that, that actually looks like the one on the car yesterday but that was painted black.

The fin gap is smaller and its wider than mine....
