Default Clutch slip

Morning all

Just a question really, doing about 80mph on the motor way and i plant it, and the clutch slipped slightly like revs went up and dropped down again.... after that i did 120mph no problems

Next time it happened, after me trying to get it to happen all the way home, is this morning.. in third, only slightly.

Now it dont happen in first second and third if i plant it in a race, yet it does it at a constant rpm then accelerate....

Clutch going?>

BTW . its a s2 rs turbo with about 180bhp in a Mk5 Cabriolet shell

Could possibly be the gearbox leaking oil onto the clutch. Only way to tell is to drop the box and clutch and have a look. Would think 180bhp on a standard clutch is near it's limit tbh.

Agree with Mr Womble about oil on the clutch, it could be some sort of leak. But I disagree about 180bhp being near the Std S2 clutch's limit, its nearer 220bhp

LOL. .... thanks guys, cuz it dont do it on acceleration... just boost comes in in a high gear and it slips... maybe your right, but a performance clutch wouldnt go a miss...

Still think its a oil leak that you need to be looking for but the AP organic clutch is the best uprated clutch without going for a paddle one IMO.

Is this oil leak / if its an oil leak going to get worse or occationally ? or anyones guess.... and also could it be the clutch going?

it could be either. I wouldnt buy a clutch until you have inspected it to see if theres any sort of leak.

The part number for the AP Organic RS Turbo S2 clutch kit is AP2000-8 i believe
