Its very, very boring to drive

I jsut bought a US spec one and I'm really impressed. 6 speed box is really nice to use, brakes are really strong, the power delivery is a bit linear and boring but its pretty rapid for a 2 litre. The handling is just great - really nice trade off between chassis response and ride quality.

Cosworths based on a Pinto and shares very little despite what they call that, You can hardly compare the two

Not very many

The st170 engine is based on the US SVT zetec engine, and isnt a duratec no matter what it says on the engine! (dont let that rocker cover fool you!). Its the same as the Focus RS engine, which is based on the UK zetec lump with a few mods.

It would be pushing a lot more brake if it was a duratec engine (standard at 145bhp, zetec is 120bhp area)

If thinking of buying one don't bother.

Bought one brand new with climate pack, uprated lights.
Never started right, Lights went out on motorway doing 90,
Leaked water.

Worst thing everytime it went into ford they said "nothing wrong"

Took yearto sort out when they gave me my money back
