Colour choice for a 3 door?
My 3 door should be getting painted in a couple of months, and i havent decided what colour to go for, so im looking for suggestions???
My only criteria are:
NOT white/black/moonstone
No fancy metallic or pearls
I basically want something that looks like it could have been a factory colour, ie nothing too over the top.
Current favourites are:
Radiant Red:

or
Yellow:

Orange im also considering, but i am a bit nervous on that one as i dont want anything that looks "tacky"

A darkish grey might look quite nice, but i think i want something a bit brigther than that probably, ive got dark coloured cars already at the moment, so fancied having the cossie (replica, lol) done something bright instead.
Other option is go for a "paint scheme" like porkie etc have, but i kind of feel that with a T34 on greens it wont really have the go to match the looks then, be pretty emrassed in a painted up 3door getting done by my mates in their novas and minis up the quarter

Lol, i want to be like you doug, thats why im thinking of going red or yellow, all i need now is to fold my cock in half so its the right length too

I agree though that yellow is an easy colour to get VERY wrong, i was thinking of the shade used on evos perhaps?

Chip,
IMHO, any colour different to the OE colours will make it look like a replica, unless you go the "race car" look (which as you have already pointed out, would be a bit
for such a slow car
)

.Well on its nice new 1.6GL shell it IS a replica, so i dont care about that, anyway TBH 99.9% of the people in the world have no idea what colours a cossie came in anyway, so it would only look like a replica to ford fans, and they would all know it wasnt a cossie shell anyway from the fact it is an A reg, so that doesnt bother me at all.
I love the racecar look, but as has been said, a T34 on greens is just far too slow to justify it

Not THAT slow Chip......T34 on Light Blue/Grey injectors, wire ring the block you'll have a very respectable 380 - 412 BHP..........Add a sniff of your fav "wonder gas" for good measure

Well either the usual Black or White..
Then again i keep seeing a Camelon EVO drving round Bristol, that changes
from metallic green, to purple, to orange with looks great !!

My old man used to have a fucking mint white XR4i, he then painted it signal yellow.
Looked fucking quality though, loved it, think it suits the 3door shape a treat set off with the right wheels etc (which he didnt, 14" RS 5 spokes with HUGE rubber, was all the rage then though)!

Agree with Mike about looking a bit non Cosworth in non standard colours though. I'm a BIG fan of Diamond white, Moonstones nice too, sorry.
