Calling all XR4X4 owners in South London...
Help!
My '89 2.9 4X4 needs new piston rings, it's got no compression on 6 and low on 4.
Have any of you folks had any good / cheapish experiences with engine builders / fitters in recent months / years in the South SE London area?
I'm a tech, but my tools are at work, and I just don't have the time to fix it myself, so I either need a cheap Ford V6 specialist to fit new rings, or supply and fit a second hand engine, or possibly go for a 24v Cossie transplant.
All depending on what is most viable / economical.
Many thanks in advance for your input

Go for the 24v transplant
And generally, for XR4i or XR4x4 stuff the interford.co.uk forums are a better bet, just loads more XR4 people there than here for some reason (conversely they have very few Cossie people), and a lot of 24v into XR4x4 knowledge.

Will be investigating that then.
I'll report on any progress
