Well heres the pics of my missis S1 rst that we are currently restoring.
This started back in april last year lol, and we are hoping (a big hope lol) to have this ready for nat day this year.

This was the best shell that we could find. We was lucky enough to be given some origional ford panels from her brother who had an s1 that he was restoring but gave up as the shell was proper fooked lol.
We had new, front panel, rear panel, scuttle, front wings, passenger side inner wing repair section, and new inner and outer sills.

The inside has been painted in the base colour, the arches and the underside have been stone chipped and painted in the base colour aswell.

Cheers, yeah the shell wasnt that bad really, only the front wings, and sills were the worst bits.
We went for blue because were fed up of seeing white S1's, dont get me wrong they do look good in the standard colour but wanted something differant.
Also as far as im aware no one else has used this colour on a RS

Right, now the paint has been applied.
I used the same sprayer as Paul, he done a good job considering he hasnt done a colour like this before.
There is a few bits that need sorting when its finished which he said he will do.
All this, including the welding etc came to Ł2500 which isnt bad.
Thats all the money the missis had, so we new it wouldnt be 100% perfect as that would of been another 1-2k on top of that price elsewere.
But we are happy with it and when finnished will be the bollox.

Thats all i have at the mo, weve had all the suspension parts powder coated in silver, and some other bits and pieces done in silver and black.
So far the loom is in and we have fully wax oiled it aswell, thats about it at the mo lol.
Suspension wise, it will be running gaz coilovers and eventually when she has more money will get some adj tca from mef motorsport.
Not sure what wheels to put on it yet, was thinking of white MO's but there too popular really lol.
Any susgestions? will be in white.
Also what colour stripes on the side, as in the origional s1 stripe, was thinking silver but not sure on that yet.

Going to have the dash and some other bits flocked, and also a nice sound system in there aswell.
As for engine, it will have her old 1.9 power + syst 2 engine running cossie management, with secs moniter.
Weve bought a pro alloy rad and cooler aswell.
Hoping for around 260-270bhp when its done

will get some more piocs soon of the powder coated bits.
Cant wait till its finished as the colour looks much better in bright sunshine

O yeah the colour, anyone guess it then?
Well its not a ford colour, was origonally gonna go for imperial blue but thats been done to death lol.
The colour is from the land of the rising sun, Nissan Skyline R34, and called Bayside blue

Lets have ya comments then good or bad, the purists will hate it but who gives a fuck lol.

I'd say that shell looked pretty damn perfect to me!!

Good "before" pics there, can't believe what a mess it was to start with

As for wheels, why not rs7's with white painted insides or really any white 5 spokes would look good

Na not stripped out,hopefully having the interior out of Gus's S1, when he gets round to stripping his out lol.
Would like to have it stripped out but the missis doesnt want to and its her car.

 

Gonna go down the unit very soon and make a start on it, she only needs to buy the suspension now and then thats more or less everything we need to get it looking like a car ready for nat day pmsl

Yeah we wanted something differant that hasnt been done before which this hasnt, well not as far as i know anyway.
Will make a change to see a S1 that isnt white lol.

Thats gonna look the bollox when its done, but i really wanna see what it looks like on 17in diamond cut 7's, think they would go nice with the shape of the car and the colour, just wanna see what it looks like,

 

must admit they would look very nice on there, but want 16s so we dont have any worries with arch clearance etc.
We shall see.

 

Looking forward to seeing this in the flesh Benn... looks well, you know me I speak my mind....................... Shouldve had at the very least the boot area done with clear too couple of other bits I wouldve done different but as you say ultimatley Time is money

Damo, we didnt have the boot floor done with laquer as were having a sound system in it and is now covered with sound proofing lol.

Gonna need your help very soon, need the secs loom taken out of the cosie and put in the rst if ya dont mind

Give it a few weeks and maybe you all come down and have alook and help out

Just one thing, did you do anything about this?.......

I can't honestly imagine how that can be rectified and I would imagine that most Sunroof Mk3/4 Escorts are like it, which is a real shame.

 

No Christian we left it as it was

beleave me, thats no were near as bad as what her old rst was!!
We was gonna have a new roof put on it but no one does the panels
He done the best he can with it and looks much better now, also has nearly 1 whole drum of wax oil in there as well.

Hopefully will last a few more years yet lol.

Must admit was considering having some vents pressed in but wasnt sure, but we have a spare bonnet now so may have that one done and see what it looks like.
