is there enough movement to pry the back plate open to drain the oil without removing the diff hangar? is it a silicone seal as per front diff - why did they not fit a drain in the bottom ?!? the front diff - fair enough - but the back - now im looking at it is making me scratch my head a bit....

easy when i got down to it - gave it a good wipe out and resealed, filled with nice new fully syn castrol TAF-X 75W90
just needed a trolley jack under to take the weight of the diff when it dropped down .

whole job took less than an hour - you need a t50 torx bit to undo the diff plate though - i ended up taking the bit out of the socket to get it in the gap at the top and use a open ended spanner on it - there is not much room there.
