2wd Saph Cos
hi guys, and gals,
Dont use the site much, regular on fiesta-si.com
A friend of mine has just bought some bits to tune his G plate Saph cosworth 2wd, forge front mount intercooler(rs500), 3 Bar MAP sensor, chipped ECU, Green injectors, and a turbo to replace his current worn one.
Had a couple of problems fitting the turbo, the hose from filter to turbo needed expanding for some reason
??? S/N on it starts v 0389
now the questions:
1. how do you find out the size of the turbo, as it appears a little larger than his last one.
2. Having fitted all this it has been decided for a disk upgrade to be next on the cards, heard about using standard calipers, just spaced out using a bracket, with a bigger disk. where can he get these from?
3. The intercooler that was taken off was believed to be the 4x4 one, the dimensions of it are approx 125mm x 125mm dont know length. is this correct?
thanks
JJ

i'll have a go for you
1) oil feed hose business sounds strange. 4x4 and 2wd turbos are a bit different. don't know about the size or serial number.
2) i use std calipers (modded with an angle grinder) and 330mm discs on bells. don't know their origin. modded the calipers and made the brackets myself. try godspeed and hi-spec.
3) don't know the dimensions of i/c's, but 4x4 one is more or less square in section while 2wd is not as deep (front to back) as it is high. how is the dump valve outlet pipe? a short vertical one is 4x4, a longer one with a 90 degree angle is 2wd.
hth, and btt for you

thanks for the replies guys
that's what we was thinking, maybe it is a T34, where do we look to find this?
Got it all together now, started first time, ran a little rough for a few seconds, then sorted itself out. took it for a spin and it's like driving a different car. just need to sort a bigger t-piece for the dump valve though, as the new hoses are a little bigger in diameter, the flutter/chatter at the minute is very, very loud!
another question, now dark green injectors have bee fitted, does the fuel rail pressure need to be increased?
thanks again

the fuel pressure needs to be a set amount, no matter what injectors are fited. if it was correct before, leave it. otherwise set it up properly. do asearch on here for what it should be(3 bar or 3.5 or something like that, can't remember the details)
cheers mate, seemed to be fine previously. we was just wondering due to the greens flowing more if the fuel pressure needed turning up to accomodate it.
does anyone know how to find out what turbo it is?
thanks
