Rs1800 gearbox codes.
Afternoon all.
I need a full gearbox gasket set for an M reg RS1800 we have here, can anybody tell me how I can check what gearbox we have in the car, as I cannot find a number on the box anywhere.
Thanks in advance .
Paul.

92WTBB should be on the casing
The Ford iB5 gearbox identification number is typically stamped on the gearbox housing, near the drain plug or on the side casing. It might also be found on the clutch bell housing,

I thought the IB5 was the later cable operated 'box? The earlier ones with the rod in the bottom were a BC?
EDIT - BC is the earlier box not B5 as I originally posted.

So we still are not sure which box I have .
I really need to get some gaskets sorted soon and I am guessing the IB5 and the B5 use different gasket sets.

4 and 5 speed FWD transaxle. Originally designed for the Fiesta Mk1 as a 4 speed gearbox, the 5 speed version was eventually introduced in 1982. It was fitted until 1995 in most FWD applications until being replaced by a similar more refined IB5 gearbox.
