Hi. Can anyone tell me what the small brass insert does on a 4x4 Sierra Cosworth head. I suspect it restricts the return of the oil from the over head gear. I have a spare head with out this restrictor in.
Do l need it.
Any help appreciated

 

I have it in my head that it's an indicator as to how much the head can be skimmed.

Could be wrong lol.
