Default Focus MK1, Zetec 2.0 N/A upgrades

Hi there!

I have a ‘99 2.0 blacktop Focus, from which I’d like to squeeze out as much power as I can but wouldn’t go on the turbo route, yet.

I already have a complete ST170 intake (only the manifold and TB is stock 2.0), complete ST170 exhaust (header as well). I’m about to fit a Sytec ST170 fuel pump which got me thinking: could I add the ST170 injectors, so that I can go after the additional air with fuel as well? Will the current fuel pressure regulator “support” this modification (I know that the ST170 uses a different, returnless system).

I know that the stock ECU can compensate until around ~10%, but id I’d like to tune the map, would it give me some further ponies?

Also a question related to this: can the stock ECU be tuned this way? I don’t really want a piggyback or standalone ECU yet.

I’m also planning to polish and port the head, would that make any difference with the stock cams, which at the moment I’d like to keep?

Loads of questions, but I hope that you’ll have answers for at least some of them, I’m unfortunately a noob currently when it comes to N/A tuning.
Thanks!
