Hi Looking for some guidance, can't get my s2 rst mfi to start unless it's with easy start.
It cranks np and has good spark.
I can push the plunger plate down but still nothing ( I can also feel the pressure and it bobs up and down itself)
I've ordered a fuel pressure tester but while it arrives is there anything that I can check , and also any possible causes?

As it fires with easy start it’s obviously fuel.
I don’t think pressing the plunger plate is a relevant technique in diagnosing the issue.

What it needs is set up by someone who completely understands how it works.

Fortunately your not from one of the best at this.

Just get it to John and save yourself the pain and wasted money on part’s trying to guess what could be wrong.

See that's the difference right there , folk like yourself not wanting to learn. I've done the rest myself so why not ask for some advice and finish it myself. Part of the joy.

 

I’ve done everything to my car myself but there are some things that are beyond diy or even so called mechanics that’s we there are specialists.
I’m not saying you can’t fix it but your asking on forum what to check? In my experience if you don’t understand how the system works and what every component does then it will be luck and a parts canon that get you there.

hay over the years iv had a brew s2 that won't start due to a blown fuse witch is labelled as heated seats give that a check

 

Thanks mate , I've went round and checked all the relays and fuses. I did have to order new purple fuel pump relay though.

 

I believe the heated seat fuse is the ecu as it’s not a RST specific fuse box cover/identifier

 

I’ve got to say I agree with boost monster here. I also enjoy doing everything on my own cars but I’ve been in a similar situation.
i had my s2 in bits over and over with metering head issues and it was more luck than anything that I got it to run. I took mine to motorsport developments and never had issues after that.

I know i could’ve probably got to the bottom of it myself in the end but the time and money isn’t worth the hassle. Just take it to someone who knows in my opinion
