Default Intercooler Info / Part identification

I'm trying to find, what appears to be a unicorn part, what is this from? I'm told it's a UK Ford RS intercooler. That's about it. Does anyone know what this came out of?

The Ford Focus MK1 used a charge cooler setup, so possibly that ?

That’s what I’m trying to find out… this was a random pic that matches my part. I haven’t been able to definitively identify.

No... I'm not a spambot... LOL Looking to match a part that was installed in my 1989 Vanagon Syncro with a 1.9 TDi engine.

And as I and the other thread suggests, it's a Focus RS Mk1

What exactly are you looking for ? the entire system ? one part ? other ?

Must it be OEM ?

Obviously it's unlikely a Ford dealer will have these parts available, but it would be one option to try

Failing that, it would be aftermarket parts or have one custom made.

I just need the intercooler piece (the second photo I posted). I was hoping to just swap out what was already installed due to the fitment.

Making progress! Woot! Thanks for the nudge in the right direction! Now that I've found "the part", I need to find someplace who may sell used / refurbished ones! I need the part that says "intercooler" in the upper right.

The part that says intercooler, is just a cover.....the actual intercooler is below that.

And again, if you have one, it shouldn't be too hard for any fabricator to make a new one. Probably not cheap, but very doable.

What exactly is wrong with yours ?

And does Georgia mean the country, or in the US ?

Or just start hunting down people who specialise in breaking older Ford's like that in the hope they may have one.

Most will likely specialise towards Cosworth models though, than the Focus. Or try asking on some Focus forums, there are bound to be some

Try the original manufacturer, they may have one gathering dust in their stock somewhere,

https://www.pmagroup.co.uk/contactus

after all,, (from their website)

Mine is currently in a radiator shop now with a leak. The guy has been in the business for 23 years and he’s stumped. Never saw one like it before and it has a leak. I’m in the USA

GENIUS idea about hitting the Focus forums! Wait, what site am I on?

You are on a generic Ford forum

https://www.focusrsoc.com/forums/

https://www.mk1focusrsoc.com/forum

https://www.rsownersclub.co.uk/rsocbb/index.php

And if you're in the US, there are no end of highly skilled fabricators there who can either re-make, or repair your existing unit. It appears to have aluminium end tanks etc, all the easier to then cut these off and weld onto any new cores.
A2W chargecoolers are still common enough than any radiator repair place should know what it is and how it works.

Not sure what he's been doing for 23 years if he is literally stumped as to what it is.

It would be pointless sending it to the UK or anywhere else for repair when it should be pretty easy locally.

Shearerfab, Bell intercoolers, Chiseled performance, CSF make cores, I'm sure some of their re-sellers could fab something etc etc.

Even a quick search on youtube or Instagram will bring up fabricators. https://www.youtube.com/@rampagefab/featured

The above really is the tip of the iceberg, there are great shops all over the US making custom stuff.
