In having an issue with my headlamp washers..i found a set for sale on ebay a while back so bought them .. the problem is that they leak constantly from the jets. Yet if i lower the bottle the Leaks stop. That then means the bottle is too close to the exhaust.... does anyone have these fitted..i need a photo of the engine bay to see where thier bottle is positioned and how thier tubing sits incase I've got it set up wrong

 

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a MK2 Escort with headlamp washers.

 

As BoostM, I don't remember them been on MK2s, is it a Ghia maybe?
But to fix it all you need to do is make sure the tubing from the bottle rises higher than the level of water in it before it gets to the headlamp jet.

 

i tried this tonight and it stopped them leaking... then gave them a spray and it started again.. got a bucket under them just now. Im wondering if it's to do with the position of the bottle plus i think my car is lowered at the front but i don't know by how much as i replaced the original struts with ones i bought from ebay. They came with green springs and obviously original springs are black. they are an option on the mk2 ghia and other models in Switzerland, germany and France i believe. I bought them off ebay because they looked quite cool.
