I've seen plenty on Instagram. Looks like there was plenty of the older Fords there.

Hi Glenn, good to hear the older fords are coming out. I'm not on the socials so don't get to see them.

I was there, and will be my last Ford Fair unfortunately. I go almost every year but this year was the worst yet by far.

I applied to be on the '35 years of Sapphire Cosworth' display and was accepted so was looking forward to it. Our pitch was outside of the main show ground and there were only 11 cars on the display. There was no banners or anything like that to say it was a special display so nobody would have known. We were beside the Classic Ford display which had some stunning cars, but hardly anyone knew they were there!

Waited over an hour to get in and onto the display, where most of the marshalls didn't seem to know what was going on!

The older stuff I like such as Cosworths, RS Turbos, older XRs and RWD stuff seems to get lesser and lesser every year. I appreciate that times move on but I always enjoyed FF and making a weekend of it but that was a big disappointment.

I went, weather wasnt the best, was ok but not what is was a few years back, suppose its great for the younger crowd as countless Fiesta,Focus STs/RSs there. Was lacking in the older stuff but i suppose if you want see them you go to a classic car show which these days i prefer to do.
Biggest issue for me is the price, the stunt driving is boring now also and id love to know what the foot fall have been over last 10 years, defo seems quieter these days.

Thats a shame to hear, I had heard about the 35yr sapphire bit and was interested in that.

I suppose the mk1 and mk2 escort guys moaned about rs turbos and sapphires etc back in the mid 90's.

Theres only 167 cars booked on Rs owners club stands for national day.

Hope there are more attending clubs to fill the place up or it will be long day.

Sadly i think there killed the shows back in 2000s all them people in the click lets says in rsoc etc who think there cars are the best.. like i say the click as were i live up north probs was only like 10 or so people but that is all it takes to spoil a club and people dont bother no more hence i think up here if you ever see the tyne wear group or durham there isnt many cars at shows at all maybe 3 or 4 and thats it... i think gone are the massive shows these days mainly due to costs aswell as back in mid 2000s there started the mid to large stalls were like 150/200 thats without driven like 400mile round trip etc etc so it killed it off

Hi Mark, The Classic Ford Show in West Sussex is a great show if like me you don't want to look at just modern Fords.I had a good time and met lots of friendly people and had a lot of interest in my old Saff. You have seen the photo's I posted which gives you a good idea of what it was like. How are you getting on with yours? Big brakes and different wheels fitted now?

Hi Richard, hope your well.

Only been to 2 local shows, just so busy and to be honest they have been a mixture not just Fords so its been a nice change.

I would do classic ford but its to far for me to drive, I can't sit that long.

Fitted the comp th's and thats about it.

i was there and the lack of older stuff has killed the show for me .tbh about 15 to 20 of us go from Ireland as a few days away and the show just tops it off

we are talking about going to Donington next year instead

their was 10 cars of the 35th anniversary stand

we had 4 on our own rsoci stand lol

we asked the steward what was over the track before we went through the tunnel and he said he didnt know if their was anything lol

we thought everyone coming through were spectators

hi there all. it seems to be right across the board. it seems alot of people arnt intrested in the old stuff anymore. not sure if its the younger ones, i thought it could of been the price of things like saffs even ten years ago we have alot of clubs that support each others events and the rsoc would attend and mine would be one of a couple maybe three or four saffs at the best. theres plenty of rs focus and the like and there an arm and a leg its not the cost of things like saffs. the older classic stuff like mk1/2 escorts and the general older stuff does really well down my way with record numbers. not unless theres not many saffs about anymore
