I have attached a link to the piston in question , but I should have said long rod piston.

Obviously if you used that piston with standard rods and standard stroke crank, the piston will sit down the bore by 7.5mm at TDC, giving you an utterly ridiculously low compression.

It would be a very very very silly thing to do.

Ok the reason for the question was I am currently in a rebuild of my yb , I bought some pistons off a guy but when researching the part numbers I was not able to find much information on them. So wanted to know what would happen if I were to use that combination. But since I have measured against the old piston and there are not much difference between them

Except if it is those pistons, there is a massive 7.5mm difference in compression height. That is a huge difference.

So are the compression height of both your pistons the same ?

Then for the most part, yes they should be fine to use. The new pistons will need piston rings to suit etc.

They are clearly not the piston designed for the long rod setup.
