The reason for this post is I want to use a CAE quickshifter on an mtx75 box
CAE do one for the Focus RS mk1 MTX75 however I have an mtx75 from a mondeo that runs a duratec engine for my purposes
My question is, are the gear selection mechanisms on the top of the box the same across all MTX75 boxes but with the differences between the mk1 RS box and other mtx75 boxes being a quaife dif, different bell housing and gear ratios?
I have attached some reference pictures below
I hope this helps
Thank you
Standard mtx75 box (mine) CAE linkages for their quick shifter, looks the same, one low and one high (the high one is an additional part from them) Mk1 RS box I found on here
I may not be able to answer this and prob someone always knows better BUT - i am building a makeshift FRS mk1 for my daughter de tuned to 200bhp - everything else minimal like the T230 lightweight etc
Building up the engine and gear box i have gone for MTX75 I randomly purchased on facebook for Ł50 the guy said it was mk1 focus and i assumed it would be ok - WEIRD THING IS i have to use a standard mk1.5 shifter with unknown cables but similar to RS and i had to buy a Transit shifter tower also for the gear box - NOW I HAVE GEARS - i hope this info point u in right direction it s not an answer more me describing me effing up my projects lol but hopefully some info -
So to conclude the Transit MTX 75 shifter is similar or same as RS....OR same as Mondeo hence maybe i am using rs Cables.........
Can someone plse let me know if a Portage Center 2002 1.8 manual gearbox will fit a Passage Mondeo Mk3 (2001) 1.8 Duratec. The Mondeo gearbox has kicked the bucket on me yet I've been educated that a Center gearbox will do the trick. I'm confounded about MTX75 and IB5. Kindly assistance 'cos I would rather not figure out the most difficult way possible!!!
