Default CVH Head Number

I am replacing the head on my 1.6 CVH engine. Its the leanburn head with the heart shaped chambers.
Code on existing head is 86SM6090BE. Then underneath that a letter D is stamped.
I have obtained another head stamped 86SM6090BE but no letter D below.

Does anyone know the relevance of the letter D and if its of any importance?

Thanks

Would say the E is a later revision head than the D, does it look the same?

Both heads have the code 86SM6090BE but one has a letter D stamped below the main code. Other than that that they look identical?

Any ideas?

Thanks for your response
