Default Wet Belts

Im looking to buy a new car after an issue with a 1.0 ecoboost engine. Ive learned a lot about Wet Belts and the joy these can bring in the last couple of weeks.

Im trying to buy a used Smax or Galaxy and want to avoid engines that have this set up.

How can you check?

I think it would be safe to avoid anything with any 1.0 ecoboost engine. Are they not very troublesome ?

Even the 1.8 later engines have a wet lower belt , so be careful.

The father in law has a 1.0ltr Ford ecosport with these engines in. So far its been OK. You have to use the correct oil, last time I serviced his the oil supplied was 5/20 instead of the usual 5/30
