Hi, so I'm sure this question has been asked everywhere but I cannot seem to find anything online so

esco I have a MK4 Escort Bonus 90 4 door which has a 1.8 silvertop zetec engine in it, I was pretty stupid thinking it would be simple to put in and wire up and I was very wrong, has anyone ever put this engine in and know the wiring or has a wiring diagram for it? I have no clue where to start since I've heard you need to splice the new wiring loom with the old one, also heard it's better to get rid of the fuel injection and just run carbs, I have no clue what I'm doing at all and everyone who I've asked to help me has just said they either don't know or it's too big of a job to even consider helping with, would I just be better throwing the old 1.3 engine in it?

 

Also I am aware there is no rad, manifold, fan or thermo in the pic.

 

You really needed to get wire harness out the zetec car and cut it down really to get it work in yours on injection etc...

simple way imo to sort that out would be to run aftermarket ecu and bike carbs or twin 40s etc

How did you get on with this?

You can get the standard 1.8 Ecu and get a pre made cut down loom off of ebay and run that. Or there are guides on the net that show the pinouts that you need to use in order to DIY it......
