Default F100 being used for what is was built for!!

I was at Marchwood, Southampton household waste centre this morning getting rid of garden waste and blow me just down from me in the car park was the F100 pick up that was at Beaulieu Simply Ford on Sunday. The guy that owns it had loads of stuff in the back he was getting rid of. I thought it was great to see it being used for what it was built for. The owner has had it for just over a year and is very pleased with it. He said he may get it clear coated to preserve it's patina which would be nice.

Saw it again this morning being properly used!!!

Cool truck. I personally do not get the Patina thing...that would be lovely in Candy Apple Red.

There was another F100 there which had immaculate green metallic paintwork which I agree with you always looks way better than faded rusty paintwork. The cost these days to re-paint a big truck like the F100 can be pretty high if bodywork also needs to be done £15k or more so if it suits the owner a clear coat over the truck body as it is costs way less.

There were over 1000 Fords there on Sunday from new, to back in the 40s and 50s onwards.

Yes, very good point and other love the Patina look so I may be in the minority? Clear coat over top is a DIY proposition with rattle cans if the owner wanted to...which is also a bonus.
