Default Cosworth valve timing advice.....

Evening,
I can imagine this question has cropped up a few times. Basicly im running standard inlet and exhaust cams, im using a set of turbosport vernier pulleys. I used a gauge to find the True TDC and have gauges and the other tools needed but just wondered the easiest way to setup the cams as i dont have the original pulleys. Heres a few pics the first one is the home made dtc tool using an old spark plug, i know it doesnt look pretty but does the job, also made a piston stop tool using a spark plug and a adjustabe stop that winds in and out to the point you want it to be stopped on the degree wheel.

Heres a pic of the tools im using and the home made DTC gauge with an old spark plug that me Dad made me ( thanks Dad if your reading this )

This is how i setup the True TDC the 0 degree is set at the top of the point before the piston starts to go back down i think its known as the dwell as i called it the no piston travel top and a few people said its called the piston dwell. So im at TDC now and thats how i have left it set on the drive.

Heres a pic of the inlet cam. So what i was going to do was using the above tools clamp the arms to the head and attach the DTC gauge directly over the cam then have the tig wire positioned so its touch the face of the cam bucket. The thing i need to do that im not 100% on is finding the correct posotion of the inlet cam while piston 1 is at TDC on zero degree and the same for the exhaust so i can get her timed up correctly. I dont need to worry about the dizzy cap location as we done the wasted spark conversion from Stu at Motorsport Developments we done the ecu wiring ourselves just needed the driver board making up for the ECU, sorry going slight off point here.

So if anyone has a Idiots guide to setting up the cam timing would appriciate it lol. Was thinking if i need to find that point on the cam like the centre point before the profile moves the bucket and operates the valve or am i over complicating this
Sorry for the pictures there not that great as is my discription of what we have done so far

Sorry if ive posted this in the wrong part of the forum or for asking a question thats probably been asked loads
Thanks
Dan
