2wd Sapphire cossie (200 block) started for the first time in quite a few years, had new fluids etc prior to starting.

First crank, straight away.. but... There is a loud mechanical knocking coming from the engine... I would describe the sound as a CLACK CLACK CLACK... Sounds like it's the top end at the rear. But it was so loud it was hard to narrow down exactly where

Trying to get some rough preliminary idea for diagnosis prior to pulling the head off.

Any ideas??

My guess most likely hydraulic lifter stuck shut if been stood a while

Now to diagnose why it's doing 1/2L oil per tank

Haha .. more than a new of my old Honda's..

Used to stop at the petrol station, fill the oil and check the petrol

Can't say as it's been sat for so long. I think I should plan for a freshen up. The bottom end was apparently 10k on it when parked. New turbo...
