What’s the best Downdraft carb for 1.6 cvh mk4 escort

Having nothing but trouble from the current 28/32 auto choke is their a better alternative that bolts straight to the manifold?

The Weber 28/36 DCD as fitted to early Cortina GTs should be suitable and give an improvement in performance.
