There are a few low milers on eBay at the moment ranging from £60k-£83k a lot of money for what essentially is a MK2 Focus rs.

one sold there a week or so ago for £37k with 38k miles on it, it had been sitting on the owners drive for 4 years and needed a bit of recommissioning to get it back up to tip top condition, which is what the person who bought it is doing, for anyone wanting to own one that they could actually use and enjoy it was the perfect opportunity.

Hi Charlie
Thanks for this information. I am looking at the car on ebay for £75k on ebay with 9,000 mile on the clock and wondering if it is worth the money. After all the car is a limited edition. Any comments welcome. Many thanks

Like many specialist cars they can be and are worth what someone is willing to pay. I would say as I always do go and have a look at it as buying cars solely on pictures posted on the net is always a bit of a gamble. Also what do you intend to do with it? Are you going to use it? And enjoy it? Or are you going to tuck it away as an invest purchase? If the former I would say try and find a lower priced one with more mileage on it so you don’t become overly concerned with it depreciating and losing money, if the latter then definitely go and have a look at it as it could well be a very nice one and the one to buy.

I absolutely love them, so much so my Focus rs is modelled on one, when I bought my car seven years ago they were hovering around £39k-£45k with circa 30-40k miles on them. I could have had one at £31k but it didn’t have the sat nav in it and it needed re-wrapping. In hind sight I do wish I would have bought one back then as now they are out of reach. At the time I asked a similar question as you “are they worth the extra money” over any other MK2 Focus rs to which many a fellow ford enthusiast replied to me no. Having said that they were all sold out from Ford more or less as soon as they were announced and the extra money they were going for back when they came out and the extra premium on them now is because of their exclusivitie. Out of the 500 cars 101 were destined for the U.K. market including a few PR cars.

Anyway good luck in your search and enjoy whatever you do with a purchase

A shot of my car which has the full red and black RS500 interior along with a few other trick bits I added over the years I’ve owned it
